While Stratford is a small city (and will continue to be due to zoning laws to protect the farmland around us – we don’t have that infamous urban sprawl), its welcoming nature and growing diversity ensures there is space for many different walks of life.
Indigenous
On the traditional territory of the Anishnabek, Haudenosaunee, Ojibway/Chippewa peoples, Stratford remains home to many of this land’s original inhabitants. There are thriving Indigenous communities both in the city and within a short drive in Kitchener-Waterloo and London.
Muslim
Stratford’s Muslim community is growing at a quick rate, particularly with families moving in from the tri-cities and the GTA, and new Canadians sponsored by local community groups.
Jewish
While there is a vibrant Jewish community in Stratford, there is no temple in the city. Those who wish tend to go to either Temple Israel of London or Temple Shalom in Waterloo.
